Ravelco - anyone ever had or heard of a problem with it?

So, it has come down to this: I can put in a layered immobilizer system, show my wife how to pull the FICM relay etc...

But it is worthless if only one of us is willing to use it (and that would be me).

So, I've made an appointment to have a Ravelco installed. My wife is asking questions like: if they tie into so many wires, does the install ever go wrong, or can it break, etc.?

I have done some internet searches and Yes there are a couple of instances of bad installs, but with as many as have been put in, the instance of that or failures are rare.

So Guys and Gals, while I'd love to privately work you for secrets for your immobilizing, it comes down to something simple/one step and difficult to defeat.

ANY issues you know of with Ravelco?? I have a week before the appointment.

And yes Sean I know a flatbed can get anything -- there's only so much you can do...

I've had one in an 04 for about 5 years now with no issues. Have another in an 01 same deal, love them. Even drove over the key once and it still works.

I made my own but if you aren't comfortable with cutting and soldering wires get the store bought one. But as you say, if you don't use it, what good is it?

I've had mine in for 8-9 years now and I haven't had any issues. My truck has been broken into twice since I've had it installed..........and I still have my truck . I like the product and feel it's worth the investment.

Thanks for all your responses... I'm going to have 3 of them installed, one on Dan, one on a Toyota I got from my Dad that has more sentimental value to me than $ value (and is easy to take), and one on my early Rubicon, which I kind of would like to be there when I climb out of some creek, likely finding no fish, but wanting to not hike 60 miles from where I might be...

All 3 of mine are used regularly and not a hiccup. I just wish I would have included the Expy. The price drops considerably the more you have done at once (well, if you ask for a discount that is...)

Just installed

Finally had one out in my truck. It got stolen 2 years ago and I got lucky that they only slashed my tires because they couldn’t get the wheels off and they cut out my exhaust for the Particulate filter. They got burned there since I had already knocked out all the honey comb in it. Anyway I lost interest in my truck for a while after I got it back.but I found my self putting more and more money into it lately for upgrades so I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Ravelco system. I was having trouble with the cost until I realized it’s only a bit more then my deductible. Rollin coal ain’t cheap. Since they took my tuner out of the truck when they stole it I had to have my computer RE flashed back to stock by ford when it was time for emissions check. “You know how hard it is to get a tuner and muffler delete into California nowadays” muffler delete will be here in 2 weeks finally. New tuner I had to get off eBay and it’s even getting harder there. Nobody wants to ship to Cali “ anyway I had a Ravelco in another truck and it worked great got broke into but never stolen and they tried.
