Hey guys so last weekend I went out and replaced all my brake lines with some SS lines, and replaced all my hoses. Recently I've rebuilt both my rear brake drums. Well I goto bleed my rear brake farthest from the MC and no brake fluid comes out, I've got the tool to bleed them. After pumping countless times still nothing, so I push the brake pedal and yet nothing! What would cause this? I was thinking a faulty cylinder in the drum brake.
I'm curious about this one as well. I recently replaced the power booster/master cylinder on my '81 F100. All the wheels bled nicely except the rear passenger side (furthest away from the source). I had to bleed it from the line itself. I'm hoping it's just a plugged bleeder and not a wheel cylinder issue.
I just redid the brakes on mine and thought I'd ensure that I didn't have this problem. So, during the rebuild I removed each bleeder screw and blew it out. But, when I started bleeding sure enough one of the discs wouldn't bleed - not even with the screw removed and me standing on the brakes. So, I used a very small piece of wire to go into the caliper with the bleeder screw removed and got the blockage to let go. Don't know if that will work on drums, but....
Sorry, should have added that there's a right-angle turn in the bleeder screw that makes it difficult to run a wire through it while installed. Best to take it out and blow it out with air and/or run a wire through it. And, if it wasn't plugged then run a wire, gently, down toward/into the cylinder/caliper. Mine was plugged right where the bleeder screw's seat is on the caliper.
