I've got the truck torn down for paint, but I ran into the problem of removing the fender emblems. In my case its a single F250 emblem. Are they screwed in or pushed in or what? I pulled the inner fenders and tried to reach up into what would be the rear of the emblem and couldn't get my hands up in there.
I usually just rub the truck up against a tree and they pop right off. On my '85 Bronco the emblems used a double sided tape or some sort of adhesive, there are two small holes behind them though. Try sliding a plastic scraper behind the emblem and see if they give at all.
The 1980 and 1981 are held on with ferule nuts. The ferule nuts are pushed on the studs of the emblem and the emblem is pushed on the fender. These have to be removed with a screw driver or tool.
The 1982-1986 are stuck on with adhesive, and are meant to be thrown away and new ones installed. You can use some emblem adhesive that you can get at a local parts store though.

That method works well for side mirrors as well. My wife prefers the side of the doorway as she is backing in!
