i have a 2004 excursion. are the "excursion" emblems attached with double sided tape or are there pins also (i.e. if i remove them, will there be holes in the fender)?

thx

Yes, there are two holes behind each emblem. And it is also attached with double sided tape. The best way to get them off is with fishing line and a blow dryer. The pis just make sure that they are level and sit in the right spot. I removed mine and it didnt even hurt the paint. I replaced them with King Ranch Lobo emblems.
