whats the difference between these two kits besides the fact that one doesnt include the center 7/8 pin?

Yup. I would replace the clutches before installing a used carrier but it should bolt right in. Carrier shims may be different but that isn't a big deal.

I just put in a trac lock over summer, what a difference. I dont even use my 4x4 in the snow anymore. I would get one esp since your trucks only 2wd
