misterCMK - it ran low on oil and everything inside was destroyed. it didnt lock up or stop on me, but the truck was shaking severely at any speed above about 35mph.

where can i get a spider gear set for this truck? i cant find the parts and i need the truck back asap.

Here is a spider gear kit-- Ford 8.8" Standard Spider Gear Kit, 31 Spline

Any shop that specializes in differentials should be able to get them for you.

Yeah, you can get a trac-lok and throw it in there. Obviously it might need different shims and such. It's not too difficult..

whats the difference between these two kits besides the fact that one doesnt include the center 7/8 pin?

Yup. I would replace the clutches before installing a used carrier but it should bolt right in. Carrier shims may be different but that isn't a big deal.

I'll second the suggestion of upgrading to traction lock limited slip.

Its so nice not having traction issues in wet grass.
