I read other threads with this problem but mine is a little different. Everyone else says that the lights dont come on but my 4h and 4L lights do come on. It is exactly as someone else stated in another thread but it wasn't the original question so I thought I would start a new thread.
this is the situation:

What do yall think? I've seen all these complaints about the 4x4 not working but most of them say that the lights wont come on. All my lights work good and the transfer case shifts to a lower gear but i still have no spinning. I havent tried anything yet. figured id wait and see what you guys thought.
I hear noise when I turn the switch but the front tires do not spin
Mine is a 2006 xlt, on the fly
Any help would be appreciated

Reason: clarification
Hi,
I'm sure you have this solved by now, but just in case you don't. My lights did not come on. I had to have a new switch put in. It was not cheap and I thought it would be covered but surprise, it wasn't. Since when is the 4x4 not part of the drive train? I was told by a retired Ford mechanic to switch it into 4 high/low once a week and that should help.
Good luck...
Jeff
