My plan is just to add an Edelbrock 750, a Weiand intake, change the timing chain then add headers in the fall.
This is a mismatch and will result in an underperforming engine. You'd be better off with a stock iron or Performer intake if you're running a stock cam. The Stealth has a very large plenum volume for a dual plane and would be better suited for an engine peaking at around 6500+ RPM, at which point you're getting around single plane territory. At that point an Edelbrock carb isn't gonna cut it either.
Phoey...I had a performer 460 and it was swiped from my garage. There is one for sale near me for $100 and I can probably get my money back out of the Weiand. My original plan was just to go a little over stock as my carb is junk, then a little became a little more. The Stealth I have is supposedto be for bottom to mid and upto 6000 rpm. or so says the ad.
If my memory serves me correct the only way to get a timing chain set that will give you straight up pre 72 timing is going aftermarket. IE: Cloyes, SummitRacing, etc.

I thought you could just run a stock replacement timing set for a pre 71 460 outfitted car like a LTD or a Lincoln?
You don't choose a cam to match your intake setup. What compression ratio are you running? If stock deep dish pistons with D3 or E6 heads a split duration with a 262-268 intake would be about as much as I would go.
Also on hte timing chain for how cheap they are you'd be better off with a double roller vs a factory link style chain. Summit has a house brand made in USA (not sure who the manufacturer is) that's pretty cheap and should be fine for a stock or mild engine.
