Window Regulator

"The truck was restyled again in 1957 with a hood that now sat flush with the fenders and a new chrome grille. In the back, the traditional separate-fender body was now called flareside, while a new smooth-sided look was known as styleside."
I don't know who or what Spradely-Barr Ford is, but we are talking about vintage vehicles so just because someone works at Ford now does not mean they know everything about them. And by-the-way, I will take NumberDummy's opinion over just about anyone's when it comes to questions of Ford. If he says I am wrong then I am wrong.
But in any case this forum is about helping each other out, not arguing about minutiae; I am sorry I got started. Peace brother...we all love our Fords here.
The flairside and the stepside are two differant boxes.
Correct, one is from FoMoCo, one is from GM.

So, this is right from Ford
2 minutes ago. A flaired fender box that has steps is still called a stepside, like my truck. A flairside has a flaired wheel well,
but has no steps.
Ford still makes both styles of boxes today.
This information came straight from Spradley-Barr Ford.
Most people that work in FoMoCo dealerships in today's world have no clue about Ford history, and could care less.
Who doesn't know sh** about Fords? Uh...
Flareside pickups have outside fenders, a right & left step in front of the rear fenders that attach to the bed.
The Flareside bed was introduced in 1925. This was the first year that FoMoCo offered a factory purpose assembled pickup. (First factory assembled pickup: 1924 Dodge 3/4 ton Express).
AFAIK, the term Flareside was first used in 1957, to differentiate it from the new Styleside pickup introduced that year.
The term Flareside refers to the bedsides that flare outwards (has nothing to do with flared fenders).
In the 1980's, the term Flareside was still used, but the bedsides no longer flared outwards.
A Stepside is a Chevrolet/GMC with a similar bed. Fleetside is a Chevrolet/GMC term for what Ford refers to as a Styleside.
Ask you pals at Spradley-Barr Ford to find one Ford parts catalog reference where Ford uses the term stepside.
Look in any Ford (or 1946/68 Mercury) sales brochure, see if you can find one reference to a Ford stepside.
You won't...because there is no such thing. And...to get back to yoiur original question:
