Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and the diesel world in general. Found this site while looking for info on oil leaks and the 7.3 engine.
Hoping to meet folks in Northern Nevada who are willing to share their knowledge and technical know-how. I have no problem trading food and booze for my education... but the booze has to wait until after the repairs are done.
Well...it was only rain here this morning (in the east). Actually it happened overnight and didn't have anything in the morning. Good thing because we had to move the mother in law out today. (GRINS)
RacerChick - I'll be shooting the NASCAR race from all over actually. I have full media credentials, so I'll be anywhere from the in the infield to the outer walls and wherever else great shots can be had. ;-)
You know where you're sitting in the stands or watching on TV and go, "Wholly crap, there is someone crazy enough to be shooting a camera right next to the track?" Ya, that's where I'll be.
Let me tell ya...when you are literally 10-15 feet from two 1500+ horsepower top fuel dragsters taking off from the line at an NHRA event...it will make you feel like your heart stops for a half a second. LOL I can't even express the feeling it actually "pushes" through your body when you are that close. If you have ever watched one of these events and heard/felt it in the stands, seriously multiply that by about 20 times that feeling (including the sound, of course) and that's what it's like to be on the opposite side of the track wall from the hot track.
I have yet to shoot a NASCAR event, as this will be my first, so I'm sure this will be quite the same as 43 cars pass by me in the turn, but let me tell you, it will take A LOT to top two top fuel dragsters taking off from the line.

R_1-well if you're all over maybe we'll see you. I have been that close to the dragsters (my best friends parents used to race them) and you're right it'll just about change your heartbeat. The only thing I've experienced louder than that is being on the flight-line when the F-22's take off. Actually any of those jets are loud up close.
