MY dad has a 98 f150 that he bought from his company recently. It has 140,000 miles on it. HE has been telling me that he is noticing a hesitation when he gets on the freeway, or even just speeding up. I rode in it the other day and there is a hesitation, but then it will decide to go. What do yall think is wrong? Injectors, plugs and wires?

Can anyone help us? Also does anyone have a right up on how to change the injectors if that is what needs to be done, cuz I'm used to working on my TA and haven't touched his truck yet.
I'd be looking into replacing the fuel filter. That's a fairly easy place to start. Usually a really plugged filter will through a code, but maybe you're not that bad yet.

Have you seen any improvement? I also experienced the same problem and that's what the mechanic advised me to do.
While there was an improvement, I still occasionally experience some hesitation especially if I'm running my truck at a constant speed for a while. The mechanic has already checked the vacuum and it seems that all are in good order. I'll see if things would improve if I'll change the plug wires.
Should I do it through the brake booster line? That is where I did it in my car. Oh Racerguy it is a 4.6 with 140k, and I believe that the spark plugs and wires have not been changed yet.
If there is any question as to how old the plugs are then they should be replaced and then go from there if it still isn't how it should be.
Today I worked on a truck that the customer's complaint was a lack of power.
It was missing so bad under heavy throttle that I could barely get up to highway speed. At cruise it ran good.
The plugs were really bad and 2 of them were rusty. I replaced the plugs, cleaned the COPs and MAF and it ran like new again.
