I removed this toolbox from a bed I scrapped out and I am debating whether to install it in the replacement bed or sell it. I am not sure that I will use it enough to warrant the trouble of installing it. Is there a market for these?
They came on a few special model trucks. Good job for saving it. You don't see many beds that has them and those that do Most are in pretty rough shape.
Someone wants that if you don't...put it in the classifieds. My 69 F250 has one that is just right for the toolbag, 4-way, chain, etc. Locksmith wants $30 to handcut a key for the lock, so I just use the BFS key...big friggin' screwdriver.
These are not exactly rare...my 65 and 66 longbeds both have them. My 65 shortbox had one. I have a rust free one out of a 68 longbed in my shop. I wish my trucks didn't have them as they are not work trucks. I'm actually thinking of removing the one from my '66 and welding sheetmetal in as the bed is otherwise perfect.
