limited slip

I've done lots of diffs, but never a 10.25. Mainly GM and the 8.8 in my f150. I installed the factory Traction Lock in my 8.8 and am not very impressed with it. Very limited holding ability. It does OK on the street when I'm on the gas hard, which is what I wanted, but it won't hold in the snow when one wheel gets on a high spot and unloads the other. This unit was brand new 6 months ago. If you're going to spend the money you might as well get a quality part. Most of them aren't any more expensive than the Trac-Lock, but are much better parts. If you absolutely must have two wheels pulling in the rear you can't go wrong with a Detroit Locker. I believe there is also a unit called the Soft Locker that is basically the same but more smooth on the street. If you don't need or want a locker I recommend the diffs from Eaton, I feel they are the best all around diffs on the market and have installed many of them.
