Ok, I checked the alt. wires and they all seem fine, the battery test I'm gonna have to wait until tomorrow, its too cold out.....

Guess I should have clarified. Take voltage readings at idle with all loads off. Then turn loads on and check the readings again. You can also check the readings at 2k rpm's. If your readings dont change or are lower with a load, the alternator is toast.

Ok, so I was able to test the voltage tonight and it is 17!!!!! I think that is burning out my batteries too! Does anyone know if the regulator is separate from the alt. or is it all in one?

There are some higher amp alternators out there. Cant think of the name of them right now. Maybe someone will chime in.

One of the guys on here did a IIRC 160amp up grade It was F250_
