Tie Rod Adjustment or Steering Whee Issue?
I bought my 2000 2WD Crew Cab F250 used in Dec and am loving it. One issue that I do have is that when I drive down a straight road, the steering wheel is clocked at 11 o'clock position. Of course if I straighten the wheel it veers to the right. It feels like it's in a zone where the wheel wants to go back to center and the turn indicator feels like it's biased. I'm thinking that at one point an alignment was done and it was done with the steering wheel slightly clocked. I'm thinking that I could just evenly turn the tie rods on both sides. I have no other issues with the steering.
One other thing I wanted to know was if someone was using the steering wheel as a handle to grab on to when getting in the vehicle, could that result in the same thing?
Thanks, David.

i have the same issue.
i believe that if you do even turns on each side, that it will straighten the wheel out, but it may not be this simple.
worst case scenario, if you do it and your steering is all FUBAR'd then simply turn each one back the number that you turned it in the first place, or bring it to an alignment shop.
as far as i know, its a solid connection (minus a rag joint maybe) between the wheel and the steering box, so i don't think that using the wheel as a handle would have any ill effect.
you essentially would have to have twisted a 1/2" dia rod. not likely.
