My cousins truck didn't get used for 2 weeks but it was plugged in. He went too start it, jump it, everything and nothing. Had it towed in they scanned it and got this code P0605 - PCM Error
Go figure he waits since he had too plow for this blizzard tomorrow. Any help?
Subscribing, I too am getting a p0605 code, every KOEO test? Tuner has been unhooked for a month, or better, trying to troubleshoot rough running issues.
the 0605 is a KAM code, Keep Alive Memory, and usually comes from having a chip or programmer installed. codes will stay until you clear them so if you haven't, they will continue to appear.
What code reader are you using? Maybe it's the reader itself that throwing the code. It's not a code that is going to set the light or hurt your running and most likely never cause a problem.
I agree that it shouldnt hurt running, but I am getting the p1316, on occasion as well, and I have new harnesses with 50 cent mods, new injectors, so I am trying to find out if my rough running is PCM related or IDM related?
I wonder if a loose harness some where else might be causing you codes. Check the main harnesses at the drivers firewall for tightness and possibly any moisture that may be in the plugs. The 1316 does point toward the UVC harness but if you changed them and still having issues. Was the 1316 code there before you changed out the harnesses?
I dont know, I preemptively did the 50 cent mod a couple of years ago, and when in there discover the wiring chaffed against pushrods, replaced and installed quarters, never had any other issues, once the temps come back up to suitable to work outside, wlll be looking into the wiring going to the IDM and the PCM. The main connector the 42 pin above the drivers side VC is in good shape around that area, and all the wiring that I have checked on the engine appears to be good. I have just heard "reset the code, if it comes back replace the PCM", but before I did, I wanted to investigate the wiring anyway.
IDK, the 1316 would concern me more than the other. Will the Snap on do the same test as an AE like buzz the injectors, contribution test, ect? it's possible you may have another chaffed wire, loose harness?
Yes it will do all of that, and I have, buzz, is very nice, distinct and crisp, all 8 windows up hood closed and can still hear them great. cct passes and only once in a while gives balance fault on 3(grey CPS) installed. I have had the vc's off quite a few times hoping for another chaffed wire, or a connector that backed out, but all is well.
i get the 605 code as well it started when driving home one day the car just cut out, i worked out that the batteries were stuffed so 2 new batteries and 500 bucks later at a sevice station on the side of the freeway i was going again but my engine light is on constantly. still runs fine though..
