thanks everyone. as soon as it warms up and I get my trans on my car fixed im gonna get going on the truck. first thing on the list is to get this floor fixed and then a healthy dose of marine clean/metal ready/POR15 on the frame, under side if the bed and cab and then all of the places in the cab that are prone to rust
Don't mean to ruin your day if you've already bought it, but results tend to be very mixed with POR15.
A couple gallons of it was my first response to all the rust issues these trucks can have too, but from my experience, it isn't worth NEARLY the crazy price, or the time it takes to go through the whole prep process.
Search the forums for POR15, and make your own decision, but I was very careful and meticulous, and in the end, very dissapointed, with even just it's rust stopping ability, on almost clean metal. First and foremost, you can't touch the stuff after you put it on, ever, one knick and it'll peel right off.
As far as the whole project though, goodluck! And if you do go with POR, and have good results, post up your process.
got me a rust-free replacement cab today for a little more than what it would have cost to get 1 pan to bad I was 15 minutes too late to get a fender and both doors all in great shape for $60
