adding bluetooth
hey guys quick question my boss has a 2010 f-150 xl it has no sync it it but it has the phone button but when you push it nothing happens .Can ford put the bluetooth in without the sync or is it all together he really likes the bluetooth in my lariat and wants it in his truck too thanks guys

IF it's not a factory option, you can't put it in. All trucks have the phone button, but not all actually have the software/module option. For easy of manufacturing, ford puts the phone button, as well as the satelitte radio button on all trucks. But they don't load the software/module into all. You can get a plug and play bluetooth option from ford. It plugs inline w/ your radio wiring harness, and has it's own module along w/ mic and remote options button. Installed one a few months ago on an f-150. pretty straight forward.

Ford dealer just installed the "Ford Mobile Ease" Bluetooth into my Expedition. Tiny unit mounted next to the radio. The Bluetooth mic is mounted on top of my steering column. Works great and looks factory. It automatically mutes the radio and volume controls are through the factory radio. All other controls are voice activated.

You might be better off with an aftermarket setup like the Parrot bluetooth systems. For the same price people seem to think its a far better unit. Mine came with my truck as part of my negotiation so I didnt have a choice what the dealer would install.

What is part called Wilbur?
Ok so I have a similar issue. I have a 2011 Crew Cab F150 XL and would like to add bluetooth. What is this part called Wilbur that Ford will add and install. I called them and they act dumb like they dont offer it. Also what was the final resolution for your bosses truck? I am trying to find the best way to add bluetooth to the truck and keep it as stock as possible and keep the same radio. Please help.
