2008 Front End

If I were to convert my front end of my '02 Ex to an '08 front, what would that entail? I think it would take:

1. Left fender
2. Right fender
3. Hood
4. Grill
5. Bumper
6. Left and right headlights/signal lights

Is it a simple bolt on or will there be welding of other supports or cutting away some things?

I might be wrong but I think it entails a little more work than just a bolt on job. It may take a new radiator/header support etc. You might try searching on this forum. There was actually a guy that grafted an Excursion to an 08 Super Duty front end with 6.4 PS. It is a long thread and quite an amazing feat. Hope you can find that one.

It has been done and discussed many times... looks like it involves alot of work and pricey parts.

Here are a couple threads I subscribed to while looking into this:

I don't see an 2008 conversion in that link... did I miss something? The OP is inquiring about an 08-up front end.

It takes about $5000 in parts, the fenders bolt up, thats it.

This is mine, the swap looks good though, but is it worth the money to you?

I gave it some more thought about this as I was watching Mecum Auto Auction on HD Theater. What if in 15-20 years from now when our Ex's become rarer and they become collector's items. Would it be wise to keep it in the original front end and maybe get top dollar? Or, is it just wishful thinking?

All the more reason to buy 2, one to play with, one to save.

Well after watching the Barrett Jackson auction, I doubt Excursions will ever be a collecters item...
