2008 front clip conversion
Hopefully I am not beating a dead horse by asking this, but besides the front sheet metal and some tinkering to get things lined up what is needed to do the 03 conversion to an 08? Ive seen an excursion with it done and a f250 on ebay as well.I can get parts and labor reasonably priced but need to know all the parts needed.Thanks for any info on this.

I think you would be better buying a whole assembly front clip from a yard that specializes in late model wrecks. even the core support is different as the radiators are angled. 2 months ago there was a yard in Florida selling an 08 F450 king ranch complete front end assembly including the radiator and a/c condensor and front bumper and they were asking $3300

i would be interested in this too but id like to know where you can get all the parts at a reasonable price(or what you define as reasonable). the conversion just doesnt look all that easy unless you have a donor truck.

i think someone should make an 08 conversion kit that is a one piece fiberglass with suicide hinges like a semi. that would sell. if u need to know more about the conversion the guys name is gavin at gas motors in american fork utah. gasmotorsllc ebay user id

This may be silly to you guys I guess, but how hard would it be to swap from an 08-09 to the 05-07 front? I just dont really like the current look as much, and the completely flat bumper on the 08s just seem like they are taking a big step back. Just about all the aftermarket replacement bumpers I've seen look nicer on the 05-07 just because of that slight raise up on each end.

i agree with you.. and i will take it one step further and say i think the front ends of the '08's are but ugly

I have an '08 and am not all that impressed with the look of the front end either. Actually, I think all of the bold, all chrome grilles look like something straight out of a J.C. Whitney catalog.

Well I dont think its butt ugly just think ford could have done better. The headlights are odd but growing on me. If I get one I think I'd just get the basic XL (non-chromed) and add the harley lights (I assume that can be done). Maybe paint the grille to match body or trim color or something, Not to worried about the grille though I'll probably get a aftermarket bumper with a screen or something infront of the grill anyway. If I could ever afford it, I think this is one of the best looking bumpers on the 08 and up I've seen so far: http://www.buckstop.biz/Images/ford/...F9OBy003_l.jpg i'm picturing the bumper and grill line-x'd to match with the smoked headlights and fender flares.
