i know i havent been on in a while but i need help desperately im trying to find a new 300 L6 for my 78 it has lost all oil pressure and is starting to knock im in a bind if anyone has any places where i can get a new engine for a reasonable price it would be greatly appreciated preferrably under $1200.00 gotta get old blue back on the road this is the first time he has ever let me down please help. engine
Why not get the one you have rebuilt? I'm willing to bet you're not going to find a "new" motor of that age. I'm also willing to bet you can have the whole thing done without you getting greasy for $1200. Now if you took it out yourself and brought it to a machine shop, maybe $400-$800 depending how bad it is inside and the quality of the shop.
well i was going to swap it out during my vacation i want to take my time rebuilding it but i have to get it back on the road its my daily driver i dont want him down for a long period of time thats why i want to just replace it by new i meant new to me i dont care if its remanufactured long as i can get it running in a day or 2

My brother just pulled his inline 6 out of his 96 F-150 and is replacing it with an old 460. If you want, I can check and see if he still has it and wants to sell it. He lives in the Temple area.
