Blue spring!

Installed the blue spring the day after my fuel pressure gauge. had a new fuel pump 2 weeks ago but the great tech at the dealer didn't bother to check the pressure after the install. Had 50 idling ahd got down to 45 at around 2250. Now have 73 idiling and 65 at wot!!!

73 is a little high... not sure on what you can do about that.

lenzhotrod posted up the International spec on max fuel pressure in another forum. Their spec is 70 psig. IMO 73 is fine. I think that I am probably the main source for Fords spec. I documented it years ago and now I can not find the specific reference, but I certainly believe it to be accurate. Folks on the other forum I mentioned are debating whether or not the 100 psig from the GDS spring is really all that bad. Some people have been using it for 20k + miles and no issues yet. Who knows if or when you might see problems, but I do know that it doesn't get you anything ........ except more risk.

I also got that from cheezit! I am sure it is correct! Not saying you are incorrect, just got from another very reliable source.

70psi is in spec. give the gauge 2-3 +/- psi. he is close enugh. being the spring is new it may settle a little bit as well.

Yes 73 is ok. Your injectors see even less than that, being further down in the system. Also how accurate is the guage?

What's the International part # and did you get it from a dealer or online?

i am thinking about getting the blue spring too. do you feel any power difference with it or just a little extra insurance against frying your injectors?

You would only feel a power difference if your fuel pressure is already low. It's insurance against injector failure, not a performance mod.
