Trans slips at 20mph
2005 Expy XLT 97k. Today a mechanic looked for codes for an electrical problem(engines shuts off). Said he would get back to me. When I picked up the vehicle, it will not go over 20mph (1500rpm) and slips out of gear. No trouble lights came on. Are these two related? Any suggestions ?

Did you bring it right back and talk to the mechanic. Was this a dealership or was a local garage? I would be asking a lot of questions if I was you. I have a feeling if he was doing some digging around, he unplugged something and that is causing your problem. I wouldn't do a whole lot until after you talk with him. You don't want to mess things up even worse.
