1-I need a 390 rear sump pickup tube for a motor Im building for a friend. My local napa and carquest say its discontinued or obsolete. Anyone know of a source for them? I just cant bring myself to use the original one.
2-Same buddy has a 76 F150 4wd that we're replacing the the heater blower motor and the heater core on. The heater core has a wire soldered to it that runs about 12" or so to a solenoid on the underside of the inside of the AC box. Anyone ever seen this? Seems a little odd to me.
Enjoy this one guys...I dont ask questions like this very often.
The first one is a front sump pickup and the second one is for Canton oil pans. I need a standard Melling pickup for use with a stock rear sump pan - nothing fancy.
I just put one of these in my new 428fe. You'd have to swap out one of the main cap bolts for one with a top stud to mount the brace from pickup tube.
I'd give you the part # but I'm not feeling nice today
If it's just really cruddy and you can't find a new one you could get it cleaned at a local automotive machine shop. It should come out looking just like new.
73, Im quite aware I have to swap out a main bolt and thats obviously not a problem since I built an engine that originally came with a rearr sump pan. Ive got the Melling part number but my local parts stores are listing them as obsolete. I have no doubt they are available elsewhere but in this po-dunk town its not available.
Mark, Ive cleaned it a couple times in some gas and compressed air. Im sure its fine but it bugs me reusing one of these.
Joe, thanks man.
Dan, I lol'd thrice. I think you need to keep that username
