Ok so i have a buddy here at school that just aquired a 95 f350 psd from his dad. He tells me it has the dp, 4" striat pipe, gauges and stage I's, and a chip iirc a tw, daddy did all the work then just gave it to him, lucky sob. Anyways he knows nothing about trucks just wanted one i guess, but i suggested he get an ic. He wanted some details and how to put it together and i didnt have all of the answers so thought u guys might know a thing or two.
So correct me where im wrong. You need an early or late? 99 spyder. a 6.0 ic but with 7.3 sd pipes that have to modded to fit? any extra info would be great to help pass along to the . oh and why a 6.0 ic and not the 7.3 ic from the sd's?
there is zero boost in power, you loose about 2~4lbs of boost, did not help or hurt my mileage. What i did get in return was a HUGE reduction in EGTS, i had stage 2s and wow thoes temps rose fast, now they incrementally rise up and stay around 1200° on a hot run, very managable now.
Just thinking maybe that money can be better spent elsewhere.. home fab electric fuel? 2's? HPOP upgrade? Just throwing some ideas your way
Why does he want an IC? Does he tow a lot?

Exactly what I was going to say. Id start with other mods first like robb said or trans upgrades

Well his dad has his own carpeting business so they tow around 15ft trailers iirc, loaded down with those huge rolls of carpet and tile boxes and travel all over oregon. so it was just a suggestion from me to him that it might help so he asked me to find some info on it for him.
Well i think he said going over the pass hes usually near 1200 or 1300 if hes really pushing it loaded and gets tired of towing like 12+ doing 50 or less trying not to melt anything lol. and thanks for those links kinda helped clear some things up. except for the spider? i keep reading that a 99 spyder will work but it does or doesnt need modding? and i guess the sd 7.3 pipes will work with a little moding to the passenger side pipes i guess.
The early '99 spyder is bolt up. That's for the turbo and the plenums. I put in a 7.3 IC. They work just fine, just don't flow as well as a 6.0. I only modded the pass. side pipe, but I needed an extra long boot for the driver's side.
