Nice score. Wish there were some junk yards around where I'm at that would let you pull what you want. No such thing as a pick and pull around here.

Gotta love a good day in the junkyard................pretty cheap entertainment to me..........When I was in highschool (late 70's) there were a lot around my area that would let you pick your own..............Id go and spend a whole day and only spend 5 bucks and come home with a truckload of stuff. Theres only a couple around anymore that will let you pick your own. I still enjoy going and scrounging even if I dont find what I went for I usually come up with something I can use or some ideas for more mods.............maybe I'm just easily entertained??????????????

With the 3G upgrade you might do yourself a favor and go ahead and do the Mark VIII electric fan upgrade rather than the OEM route.

I use the JY run as a great way to see how some things are taken apart, and I always find a part or too.

And have met some fello Ford nuts needing parts, that's always funny to me, its like
"ha where is one of those things at ?"

i had originally thought about doing both electric and engine driven. i may just go the mark VIII route. ive got a real nice aftermarket oil/transmission cooler with a fan on it that im gonna add for the engine oil. since im doing away with the auto tranny, im thinking about using the tranny cooler on the radiator for the power steering.

was gonna pull an a/c compressor to use for onboard air, but i couldnt find one in decent shape.

With the VIII fan there is absolutely no need for any other fan. Plus there is no way there is enough room for an engine driven fan.

With a 195 t-stat I run a constant 200 degrees, when I had the C6 I ran consistent 170 degree or less with a 3000 RPM stall convertor. Engine oil temps were a non-issue.

I ran a small cooler for the power steering.

1993-1998 for Mark8

You can also source the fan from 10th gen T-Birds which ran from 89-97, but look at the 93-97 cars to be sure. Not certain on the 89-92 cars.

Best bet is to do a search on the forums for the Mark VIII fan or a Google search. There are 10 ways to Sunday to wire the fan up depending on what you want.

Unfortunately, the price of scrap has made it too tempting for junk yards to pass up the opportunity to clear out some of the older and heavier junkers. It's getting very difficult to find 35 year old anything in junk yards because of it.
