Engine quit on highway

Traveling @ 60mph, engine @ operating temp, 40* ambient temp. The engine stopped running. Pulled over to the side and while I was slowing down in gear (drive {automatic} ) the engine restarted on it's own. Traveled additional 4 miles took the next exit and it stopped again. This time I started it on the first try climbed a short 12% grade but the engine struggeled. Not missing, but ran slightly, very slightly rough. Any thoughts?

Can you check the PCM for stored codes? You will need more than a basic OBD II code reader to do it.

Did you get the CPS recall done?

What is the oil level on the dipstick? If the oil level is low, you may be starving the HPOP reservoir of oil and it is dying. Then as the oil gets back down it will start up.

If that is good I would start looking for wire bundles on the engine that may be intermittently shorting out. Wiggling them while the truck is running is a pretty good way to find them. Pay special attention to the fuel bowl heater area and the wires around the drivers side valve cover.

Was the area that you were driving, 'wet'/raining/snowing and did you drive through any water to splash into the engine area? I believe that you may have gotten some moisture pasted the CPS o-ring seal and caused a 'shutdown'. Take the CPS out and put vasoline or a little electrice grease on the seal to make it water tight.
