First I want to say thanks to you all. You have helped many times! Ok, so when I am sitting at a stop or under a light load, I hear this wierd clunk. Sounds like a door shutting. I can actually feel it in the floorboard. Happens about every 45 seconds or so. I drive a 2005 f-350 PS LB SRW. Does anyone know what this might be? Thanks again in advance.
I would suspect that you have a vacuum leak and what you are hearing is the "blend door"...although the regular cycling of the noise is puzzling. In some modes of climate control operation (defrost) the a/c compressor will cycle on and off. I wonder if this is what you are hearing.
My 05 was doing the same thing. Door shutting and hubs not working. I replaced the 4x4 vacuum solenoid and all is good. Hubs work and door quit making noise. Part number is 7C3Z-9H465-A. Hope this helps.

Could you please elaborate on what you mean about your (door quit making noise?)
The best way to diagnose vacuum problems is with a hand pump/gauge combo.
Start at the electric vacuum pump on the passenger side firewall in the engine compartment. Hook the gauge up to just it and turn on the key. The pump should draw a vacuum and then shut off and then hold the vacuum. Then follow the line down and hook the gauge up there. Again the pump should draw a vacuum, shut off and hold it.
Just keep going down the lines one section at a time. As soon as you hit a spot where either the pump doesn't draw a vacuum and shut off, or the vacuum bleeds, then you've found the leaking line.
The hand pump can be used to test for leak downs. For example, you can hook the hand pump to a vacuum hub nipple, hand pump down about 15 PSI and see if it holds. If it doesn't hold, it's leaking and needs to be repaired, etc.
