My parents just picked up a 200 explorer limited, and after being in my expy with flows, they want the same sound. My question is how will it sound? I see it has the 5.0 motor, so will it sound like my stang? I dont know, I told them that exhaust sound doesnt fit the car, but they are persistant. What do you all think? Thanks
From the ones I have heard, the 40 series gives a nice low rumble that is not too over powering. The 50 series will give them the loud rumble. Those are the only two I have heard and the 40 sounded best coming out of a Explorer.
For the explorer I would go with magnaflow, I just installed one with dual in and dual out, it has a really nice low rumble to it. I ran flows on my old mustang and loved them but the magnaflow is definately more suited to a truck.
The only kits you will find will be catback systems, and for what they cost, you can have a muffler shop redo the entire exhaust for around the same price.
I would have a custom shop cut out 2 of the 4 cats, and put in a flowmaster 40 series 2-in-1-out muffler. You will have a real good sound out of that...
