Need help choosing engine for towing...

What are you planning on towing, & how far, and any big hills? I agree with most others, if you are going to tow much, I would look at either a FE or a 460, and I would never tow much with a AOD neither. The AOD`s suck power, are not that great for reliability, and if you were to use a small block, chances are the only time you could use the overdrive while towing is downhill, or if lucky, on a dead flat road. If hyou only plan to tow a tent trailer, dirt bike trailer,small aluminum boat, or small utility trailer, sure the SB/AOD would likely be fine, but if you were planning on towing something heavy, like a car, you really should have at least a F250.
