Easy way to install the ring gear. Clean both the ring gear and flywheel mating surfaces. Put the ring gear in the oven, set at ~300F. After a few minutes, the ring gear will fall into place on the flywheel rather easy, just use a hammer handle or similar to hold it down for a few seconds. As it cools, it tightens up and fits like it should.
If the female of the house doesn't want you operating the oven, a propane torch can be used, just don't linger in 1 spot too long....
