Hodges and big greenie; my bronco would pull both of your expys plus mine uphill backwards in the snow in 2wd. Hows that fuel for the fire!
Don't forget with the brakes on and 2 cylinders disconnected.

To the OP, I live in GA, and trucks and full size SUVs are much high than the surrounding states around me, I paid 7k for my 99, with 172,000 on it, but it is already lifted, has 35" tires and looks brand new inside, and a 9 out of 10 outside, best truck I have ever owned, I would get the X your looking at if it were me, you know the prices in your area for vehicles, and if your like me, and have found alot of people are trying to sell junk for even medium prices, when you find a good well taken care of vehicle, don't let it slip away, 172k is not bad at all for these 5.4s

If you don't like it don't read it. Who made you the forum cop?

Hey now! I didn't do anything to get dragged in to this fiasco. I am just some guy wondering if he bought the truck and following along and actually got a good chuckle out of the bickering over something so miniscule. Just let it die. Good luck cOpE on your purchase if you do. I don't regret buying mine. Only had a few weeks and enjoying it. Kind of parked the Subaru for now. It sure is easier with a child, car seat and all that compared to my Bronco. Love the Bronco but it was poor on gas, hard to get in and out, rode rough(HD Suspension). But, it was a true 4wd vehicle. It would go through anything. I am going to miss it when I sell it.

Sure you did, you butted in and tried to instruct the semantically correct wannabes on how and what to post.

I do enjoy stepping back from posting once in a while just to see how those that once allied themselves turn on each other.

sometimes a spinning tire can give some traction.....go out on an icy hill and floor it...i bet your tires spin yet you still go up the hill, how can you go up without traction?yes you will get better traction if your tires aren't spinning but they still provide SOME traction, you dont seem to understand this yet YOU laugh at him, now thats funny

What is funny is how EVERBODY has watched me take you to school in this thread, and you still think you are right. I bet the silence is deafening in that hole you have dug yourself into.

Calling me dumb a s s in every post you make only serves to prove how incapable you are of intelligent conversation. Keep up the good work.

No one, it's not a provable argument. Someone would have to concede and that ain't happenin'.

Ok so my understanding is that Fwd is front wheel motion or power to the front wheels to make them spin traction or not, so it would be put in the category of a 4x2. A Rwd vehicle would be the total opposite but the same. Meaning the rear wheels have the power or ability of motion, still a 4x2. A 4x4 would be the first 4 =four wheels and the last 4=all four wheels have power going to them from the force of the combustible engine. Please feel free to correct my this is just my understanding.

So what I have gotten from my reading and own understanding of the system is that. Regardless if all wheels are spinning/ have power of motion be it having traction for a split or 60 seconds, then 4x4 mode has been achieved. Rear wheels spinning front wheels are engaged or connected to system to receive power and then said vehicle moves in given direction due to the front wheels having some kind of traction.

Now for the topic at hand, I bought my 98 5.4 Eddie 4x4 in 08 so she was 10 at the time with 142k something. Dealer wanted an arm, a leg and my first born. 10k+. Well I got it for about half that, I did my homework, and plus I worked at a dealership done a few appraisals and also worked with the company a few times. If you feel the price is right and no other truck you have looked at had the right price and care that you have posted then you my friend have found the truck you are looking for.

My baby didn't ever have blown plugs, but did melt her PVC heater hose (155k), had a leak in the oil pressure line and rear driver brake line had a leak as well (about 167k).

I come from a long line of car techs (doesn't really mean much) but I really deal with programming and have a better understanding of how the computer code would look like, and the loops and variables used. Anyway, hope you guys can agree to disagree.
