What would cause the tranny to slip out of gear at around 32 mph? It acts like I had dropped it into neutral. Started doing this on Monday. Thanks for any help.
Is it at 32mph or 42mph that it is slipping? 32mph spounds like no direct drive (No 3rd gear/Broken direct drum). Slipping in anything over 42mph would indicate an overdrive band issue. If you say it doesnt do it with the od off. It is likely the later of the two...If the direct drive is broken you will not have third or fourth gear. Only 1st/Reverse(Use same planetary) and intermediate(2nd Gear) will work...
Yes, right around 32 mph, and the rpms go up like I was revving the engine in neutral. This drive drum you speak of, where is it at? It seems to get into 2nd gear before it hapens. If it were the bands, of fellow told me that this tranny's bands cannot be adjusted. Thanks.

Reason: forgot one message.
If it don't slip out of gear with the overdrive off then it sounds like the problem is with overdrive, which is the band.
There are a few things that it could be, but the most common one is a small e clip on the servo that applys the band likes to break and get stuck in the valve body preventing the valve to move and causing the band not be applied.
During the 3-4 shift the overdrive band comes on and the forward drum is released, so if the band cant hold when the forward gets released and it quits pulling forward.
