ok I know this might bring up a hot topic because I know people despise wheel spacers. But I have on 04 f-350 with a leveling kit and I have a chance to buy the 05-07 Lariat 18" 5 star fat spoke wheels with new tires BFG's mud terrain 35's for 500 bucks, can not beat that. What size spacers would I need and what are some strong spacers out there.
The nice thing about those spacers, is that they are hubcentric, unlike some of the cheaper ones. The bad thing about those spacers is they are $700 for a set of 4. Pretty much ruins any good deal you might find on wheels. But if you must go with spacers, it is the only safe way to do it.
I know there will be a risk with wheel spacers, but it's not like I will be going off road or anything that will try to damage them. The worst that I would be doing will be driving through a yard to get to bonfires and such. So I dont think much damage would happen
Without spacers, though, they will sit in too far and not look right.
they dont sit that far in and the turning loss is very minimal to justify 800 dollars to get back that 1/4" to 1/2" the wheel turns. In 5 years not one person has ever looked at my truck and said "wow those tires are sitting to far in and dont look right."
Well, if you're losing turning, then the tires must be wider than stock that is helping with the look. Stock offset for '99-'04 is +6mm and '05+ is +40mm, so the wheels are moved in about 1.34".

This tire?
If that's what you are running, I agree it doesn't look too bad. I can see it, but I'm looking for it. However, those are narrow tires, and most guys who swap wheels go to a little larger tire with an agressive square tread, and rubbing will be worse.
those are old tires, I'm running Nitto Terra Grapplers now but they are the same size. A little larger then the stock size. But very true knobby tires are gonna grab and catch more.
I run a 275/70r18's. With knobby tires though I would pick up rims Vs 800 dollars for spacers. then I would resale the rims.
