isnt this when some one chimes in what about a cummins swap? no but seriously they want 4k for a reman engine? where are you located? that seems extremely steep might try Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market or jasper engines
I kinda want the Ford one. The motor is $5150 plus tax, and I get $1500 back when I return the old core less freight. I bought this truck because it has a v10. It was this, or a Dodge. I have driven two different Dodges and both had a steering box that was awful sketchy. You know the old Dukes of Hazard show? When they would be driving down the highway, chatting with each other, and the the guy driving the car would be rocking the wheel 180 while the car was going straight? Yeah, it was like that.
My Ford reman engine (rebuilt by AER of Dallas) was the biggest steaming pile the world has ever seen. Customer support from Ford and the dealer was almost zero. I have learned this much: any engines I install with either be used, or built by me, or (in the case of a beater) won't matter.
I would troll around online and see if there's any dirt on the Ford reman you intend to purchase. I'd still put a used/takeout engine in it...for cost and quality reasons.
