Front bumper removal question

How hard is it? How much does the bumper weigh?

I have to remove it because i was towed home the other day and threw the strap around my brush guard. Well it pulled the bumper out on one side so it looks like i will drop the bumper and reinstall correctly.

really easy actually.

I duno how salt is in your area.
so PBblaster them up first

I find it easier to take the bumper off the brackets.
as well as the same for installing it.
its hard to hold the bumper up with your knee's whiel you try and get the washers and everything together to slip it though.

the bumper is easy to remove. It is light also! Makes you wonder why you haven't put something a little more stout on there. I removed mine to put the front hitch I built and it was a piece of cake. I can't afford the bumper I want so I will stick with what I have also. I would post a pic but am having trouble.

Two on each bracket. There's even a tab on the brackets that will hold the bumper up while reinstalling if you don't knock it too hard.

Awesome, once i get my new starter in and get my truck turned around, I will see if i can get it done by myself.

Learn from my mistake and dont get towed home with the strap around your brush guard. haha. You live you learn.

Absolutely no good way!!! Ive been going to build a tow plate under the front bumper on my 96 F350 service truck. Take a peice of 1/2 or so plate that spans the framerails and put a good sized hole in it so you can attach a chain or strap in the center. Then build some square tube brackets to drop it down below the bumper. My truck gets used off road quite a bit and Ive always been lucky and been able to pull it out from the rear when Ive stuck it. And when I sink it I need a good solid spot to hook to since it weighs 14,000 lbs. BEFORE I load anything in the bed!!!

Two milk crates are just the right height to hold the bumper while you loosen the nuts.
I t is heavy, so beware.

Last time I bent my kids front bumper pulling him out of a ditch he just gently slammed it into a tree a few times and straightened it out. really! It worked perfect.
