Common area would be the mechanical fuel pump that sits down in the valley, or the lines that run from the back of the pump to the heads, as those conections are prone to weaken over time. Also, any of the fuel lines that run from pump to bowl etc.. are also prone to wear over time. May want to check those out to start.
If it is any of the above, let us know and we can walk you through replacement of parts. Are you pretty handy? most of the above things can be fixed by yourself and save some $$ that the 'stealer'ship would charge
There are many different places to look for the leaks. The engine tilts back slightly, so that's where we see the fuel, especially when it comes out the drain hole on the top passenger side, but not necesarily where it's coming from.
Best thing to do is clean & dry the top of the motor and with the engine running look for leaks. I small inspection mirror is very helpful for this.
i would appreciate the help, i go on days off tommorow and i will look abit better for the leak. ill report the findings. i am a shade tree mech. but diesel is another world to me. with alittle help from my new friends ill learn a few things and save my money for new parts, good idea on the mirror.
