Blind spot mirror replacement

The other day i was parked and came back to the driver side blindspot missing like someone just popped it to save themselves the $$ to replace theirs. Well does anyone know where to get the full part not just the glass but the plastic holder that attaches to the nub on the inside? I called the ford dealer they said i would have to buy a whole new mirror because they do not sell that part alone. I also talked to an online place and they said if it wasn't listed on their site they don't have it. I might just buy a mirror off ebay since its way cheaper than ford. Does anyone have a suggestion where to find one? It is the drivers side lower mirror on the tow mirrors. I am about to call the ford wrecker but might have to wait until the holiday weekend is over. Thanks.

You should be able to get that from the dealer, if you can find one that knows what they're looking for (since Ed's out recovering). I know you can get the top glass by itself. How much of a rush are you in to replace it?

Those little mirrors suck as blindspot mirrors. I only use those little mirrors when I'm backing up, watching to see how close the rear tires are to the curb.

I've used use C-Betr mirrors for years for the blindspots. Once you use them, you'll wonder how you've ever driven your rig without 'em.

+2 on all info!! The small factory blind spot mirrors ARE available from Ford separately (I bought 1 a few months back from Ed, it was about $25.00.

Also bought the C-BTR mirrors about a year ago and they are the best investment in mirrors I've ever spent!! very well made product, solid, don't vibrate, and even come with stainless hardware!!

Love those mirrors! Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't yet picked up a pair. Wayyyy better than what Ford provides.

For those of you with C-Betr mirrors....check to make sure the seam on the rubber seal is at the 6 o'clock position so water doesn't get in, freeze and crack the mirror. I just learned this myself the hard way.
6 years without issues and then one of mine cracked. We had some freezing temps here a couple of weeks ago right on the heels of some rain and that did the trick.
Replacement mirrors are about $11. Luckily I needed to order a set for my wife's truck anyway....

To the OP,
I think I have my original mirrors in a box somewhere. PM me if you don't have any luck with the dealer and I'll see if I can pop out that little mirror.

Yep, these C-Betr mirrors are easily the best money spent on my truck. Now I have zero blind spots and lane changes on the freeway are a breeze.

Those are one of the best cheap mod's done to the truck so far. The little mirrors are still handy though, both of mine are aimed at the rear tires. Makes finding the curb or anything else I need to park really close to extremely easy.

Thanks for the input. I like those c-betr mirrors and definitely will check that out. Unfortunately my OCD kicks in and i can't stand having blank spot there.

Supercab, did you need the whole plastic holder or just the mirror, ford said they sell the glass only.

Google turned up this pdf over at TDS. http://www.thedieselstop.com/faq/949...les/980707.pdf Page 2 has some part numbers listed. Give this one a try. F81Z-17K707-CB Convex Glass/Retainer Assembly - LH

EDIT: Just stuck the number in on Ed's site. It comes up as a 99-00 glass for $27.56

Maybe the glass comes as an assembly. Thanks.

Edit: Here's another link with some part numbers. He also says that it came with all the plastic to clip right in. TheDieselStop.Com Forums: 1999/2000 Mirror replacement part numbers

I know the mirrors are available for the '08 mirrors seperately because I had to order one to replace the factory defected one, so I bet you can get it for the earlier version.
