Does anyone know how to repair the following problem. I tried searching on here and am not finding anything.
On my Expedition the drivers side mirror always adjust all the way out and down when you hit the unlock button. I guess there is a sensor in there that tells it the position of the mirror and from there it should adjust for my settings. The seat, etc adjust properly. It is just the mirror that seems like it doesn't know where to adjust to for the setting.
Does the whole mirror have to be replaced? Can I buy the sensor and replace it so it works again? Other options?
Sounds like a wiring issue maybe in the power distribution module under the seat. I know of no sensors in the mirrors that would cause it to activate. All commands would come from the PDM. Good Luck
Thanks for the responses guys. I did try resetting it, but it still does it. It seems like it doesn't know how much to adjust the mirror from driver 1 to driver 2, and the reverse. Since there is no sensor in the mirror then it must be in the control computer. I am going to try and reset it by unhooking the battery and then resetting both drivers presets. Thanks again.
