I have a 87 250 ex.cab that I doing a frame up on. This truck did not have a/c. My parts truck is a 89 with air. How tough would it be to switch. Would harnesses have to be swapped. My parts truck is missing engine bay harness, compressor, and lines. But I have everthing else. Thanks

The answer to the question, more questions. The swap is possible but probably not that easy. How long has your part truck system been open to the atmosphere? Over the winter? Lots of time for moisture and rust to set up in the evaporator and chiller coils. Have you got a line on a decent priced replacement compressor and lines? How much do you want to spend before its not worth your while?

I know the system has been open for a long time. If costs get to high I will forget it but would like to research it. Are compressors only practical to buy new? Or can you find one in a yard.
