Does anyone know if the heated seat switch is a momentary switch or a constant on switch?
I am trying to figure out if i can hook up my rear defrost output on my ford gold remote start (which is a .5 second output) to my heated seat on my 2003 xlt lariat. I think it is a momentary switch and I have not tested it yet as it is winter. but if any one knows just let me know thanks
It would be nice to have a warm seat at -30c
I can't tell from the diagrams, but the switch grounds the darkgreen/violet wire to trigger the seat controller to start heating. Same color also for the pass side seat. There are controllers mounted under the seats that actually control the heating elements.
I have the Gold pack and heated seats, don't waste the rear def. control for the seats. Seat switch is a constant and will be on in rem. start if you leave them on before you get out, which forgetting to turn them on the night before will only be a problem for a little while...you'll get used to remembering to turn them on. I used the rear def output for the SEIC so I can idle up remotely, aux output controls my train horns.

On my truck when the ignition is turned off the seats turn off, when i restart the truck the seats will not turn back on until the switch is pressed after the truck is running.

you are right about the switch, supplies a ground i will find out today if it is momentary or constant on. I might have to use a relay to do this?
