Ford Gold Remote Start kit
Anyone know where to buy these at? I'm wanting to put in a remote start on my 250 and have no idea where to buy these at. I hear everyone talking about this "Ford Gold Package Remote Start Kit" and still have yet to see a reference as to where to buy it from.....

I image they are available from the dealer. I've heard they are good units, but no first hand experience with them. If you are getting it for use when you transfer to Eielson, you may wait until you get to Fairbanks to get a remote start.
Auto Trim (local truck accessory company) sells and installs Astro Start remote start units. The have models from about $300 to $600 depending on features. The important thing is that they will be able to work on it if you every have problems with it. I currently have two trucks with Astro Starts and my old 2002 had one also with no problems. The local Ford dealer didn't even offer a Ford remote start, just sent the truck to Auto Trim. Can't say if the local dealer would have any experience working on a Ford Gold remote start if you were to have problems.

I checked into them before we got our new KR. None of the Alaska dealers sell or support them it appears. They all send vehicles out to third party places to have the remote Starts installed.
If you do a search in the super duty section you'll find some good information about them and who actually makes the unit.
