So i got done doing the bumper plug mod. Looks awesome. Then i went to hook the wires from the block heater up to the plug.....I DONT HAVE A BLOCK HEATER LOL! Truck came from the south and Apparently in 97 they were an option....So Where can i get the screw in type block heater. The one that goes above the oil filter? Other than from ford?? Please any advice would be great thanks guys/gals!
Did a real quick search... HERE .. Not sure what the ford price is these days...
The only difference is the electrical connection looks much better on the e-bay one (threaded) than the crappy 'clip' style one that came from the factory
I haven't seen out of the motor either to be honest with you, but I think that's it. You'll need to drain the coolant i believe, or it will drain itself when you pull that plug. Wonder if you're quick and can pop the element in before you loose to much coolant?
I'd check the OEM price first, if it's not crazy more expensive than maybe that's the way to go. I do like the threaded connection on the ebay one better than the 'clip' the one from the factory has. Up to you, I'd hate to have you get it and it not work. It does appear to be the right item though.
Actually your right, ive herd people having issues with the clip breaking off. The threaded end looks better. Ill just drain the coolant i HATE coolant, its right up there with brake fluid. Awful feeling to have on your skin lol. Thanks again for the help man! Where in mass are you?
Happy to help let me know what you decide and how it works out.
Ya I'm with you on that, not a fan of dealing with coolant either.
I'm in Scituate Ma, little town 20 min south of Boston on the coast. Work in Billerica, 100 mile round trip daily in the PSD. HATE driving in traffic
Are you located nearby?
Im up in Hampton Nh. Ive bought a few boats from your town. My buddy lives in billerica, Steve (rideracelivemx7). We'll have to get together sometime. Im planning a huge diesel meet in april...ish...
I went to school over in Durham at UNH, went on motorcycle cruses through Hampton all the time. Small world I guess. I'd defiantly be up for a diesel meet, keep me posted on that
