If you are sure you need one . Its easiest to remove the fuel bowl too. It can be done without , your choice..
Make sure you get new washers for the large banjo bolt on the rear of the pump & new fuel lines while you are in there .
Once you are ready to remove the pump ,bump the motor over till you see or feel the pump move ,then remove it . there is a tappet on it that you don't want to fall in the motor.
Before you install the pump in the motor , run the banjo bolt in & out of the new pump a few times to be sure the threads are clean ..
The large banjo bolt can be a pain ,but it can be done if you are patient . A little grease on the new banjo bolt washers will help hold tem in place while you are installing them...
Make sure you refill the fuel filter to help restarting it when you are done...
