The other day i tried to move a large quanity of snow off my winsheild with the wipers, they got about half way and they stoped moving and started making this buzzing kind of sound.
So i removed the rest of the snow and they work until they hit that same point on the winshield and then the make that buzzing sound and i have to manualy pull them and they cycle until they hit that point.
Not a good way to learn the lesson about clearing the snow off first.....
The wiper arms are held on with a spring clip that attaches to the stud. If you are lucky, you just jumped the teeth on the stud.
Pull them off the windshield then with a small flat-head screw driver pop the retaining clip out (it should move about 1/16") See if the studs are stripped.
Then check the linkage to see if you tweaked it. Wiper motor is on the firewall and the wiper linkage is attached to it and the studs.

I took it all apart and what happened was there is a plastic gear that is turned by a worm gear on the dynimo and the plastic gear had the teeth chewed off of it so i had to replace the whole thing.
thanks for the help
