I have a 91 F-150 with a 5.0L engine. Has anyone replace their Catalytic converters with high flow, direct replacements. I looked at mine and there is a preconverter where both pipes come in together and no joints execpt at the exhaust manifolds. What do you use and where do you get the replacement. This is the first step in puting a new exhaust on for me.

Any reason for wanting to replace just the cat? I just bought a bassani high flow y pipe (with high flow cat). Its going on as soon as the salt is gone from the roads here in MA. That stock y pipe is very constrictive. I also bought some ceramic headers, and a high flow catback (all, including the y pipe are stainless). It should flow much better, give me a much better sound, and more power and hopefully some mileage to boot. Personally, I would replace the whole pipe, and not just the cat.
