This morning I heard a slight woosh than a little pop noise now I have high egt and hardly any boost on the gauge normal cruising speed at 1800 rpm the egts are at 900 and when I get on it just a little they rise quickly to 1000-1100 , made a quick check for any inter cooler hoses that had slipped and eveything is tight and in place . Am I overlooking something else . Dp tuner in the 60 hp mode 230,000 miles .
How do you build a boost leak detector ? turbo spin is ok and clear intake hose is ok I did some mods a couple of years ago and removed / un hooked something have to try to recall in the old memory bank . Could it have been the ebpv where is that located just starting to get in and take a deeper look . Thanks
My factory wastegate actuator had the internal spring either break or go completely out of adjustment at some point. Could not maintain and hold boost. Had no luck adjusting the factory unit so replaced with a manually adjustable Turbo Master. All is well with boost after that. Just something to check given your symptoms. With my bad factory unit I could easily open and close the valve without much applied force. It should take a lot of force to open by hand.
It sounds like you blew a boot. Check your IC boots.
Yep, thats what i was going to say. Intercooler tube probably blew out if you heard a pop. Check the tubes where they go into the intercooler or ay the Intake Y

I don't recall having EGTs that high when ever I have blown a boot. But when my EBPV clip came off and it closed I heard the woosh and the valve close and my boost would not get above 5 psi and my egts shot up.
OP- the EBPV is on the exhaust side of the turbo where the down pipe connects.
Ok got to the bottom of the problem , once I got it in my garage and was able to get in there and look at things with a light , I saw that the ic line down low had just barely slipped off ( thought I got rid of that problem when I changed all the ic lines a couple years ago ) slipped it back on and good as new . Sorry for the wild goose chase . I have not been on much lately but I am sure that I will be soon 225,000 miles things are going to need a little tweeking from time to time . Love the truck gotta keep her going with one in college a new truck isn't an option for awhile . Thanks for all your guys help as always answers are always found here .
