Unhappy Snow ingestion

Whats up with the snow ingestion into the air filter so easily. I have a 2011 F250 superduty. I sucked the whole air filter right into the intake tube and filled the whole air filter with snow. What a dumb place for the air intake.
I also had to pull the mass air flow sensor in a frikkin blizzard also as it had snow inside it as well. It left me stranded for a couple of hours.

My intake is about 4 feet above the ground. How much snow do you have?
Than MAF is past the filter. Did the filter rip open?

Not a ford basher, just lettin you know. The intake is in the drivers side wheel well for those that dont know. After this weekends storm (about 16" fell) I broke down just headin to work, just sayin its a real pain in the ***. Never had any problems in my 2010.

I think there might be a TSB on this, but not sure. Call your dealer and find out if there is any fix.

I had the dash light come on in my 05 PSD one trip. It was a rain/snow/sleet mix and it plugged up the air filter and intake opening while going down the interstate. I had to pull into a gas station and pop the filter out. I knocked the snow off and let it sit on the warm engine a while to melt out the moisture. While I was waiting I had to find a peice of card board to cover the grill. Put it back together and no problems for the rest of the trip. Only happened one time but it was weird.

I call bs right now, 2011 is on the passenger side, just like the 2008-10. The 6.0 is on the drivers side.

Edit: Unless it is a gasser, then I don't know and my bs call should be disregarded.

I remember reading of similar problems with the 08-10 6.4l trucks.

Good point, I wonder if it's a gasser 6.2?

He mentioned a MAF which to me would point to the 6.2l. That said I don't know everything that the new 6.7l has on it, Ford probably doesn't know yet either.

There is a sensor located on the intake right after the filter housing.
