My FICM is on its way out, but in the meantime I've been plugging my '04 F250 up at night to get past the worst of the hard starting condition. A couple days ago I noticed a large wet spot under the trick. I thought it might be oil, but there wasn't enough fluid to tell what it was. It didn't evaporate though. The next night I forgot to plug it in and no problems the next day. 3rd night I plugged it in again and sure enough there was another large spot. I also noticed the coolant in the degas bottle was a little lower than it had been so I assume it's coolant leaking. Is this common?
I'm really not sure where it is coming from. I just thought it was odd that it only does it when the heater has been plugged in overnight. thanks for the link. Guess that might be it. That egr cooler hose looks like a pita. If I keep the truck I was going to go ahead & delete the cooler anyway just to be safe. I haven't had the truck long, but I got a pretty good deal on it. Just can't decide whether to keep it or look for an '05-07 for the better suspension, steering wheel controls, etc. and save my mod/upgrade $ for that one.
