Ok so today I bought a 1968 F100 from a friend for $1750. Does it take unleaded gasoline well or will I need oil additive? It has the original 360 ci engine, if that matters.
Welcome to FTE, Pull it up to the pumps and fill it with the cheapest 87 on the corner. It'll drink it just fine with no issues. No need to mix snake oil in. That is the diet for my 66 with FE.
Try a tank of cheapo, run it empty, fill it with 91 octane and see what happens.
My experience is that the better quality gasolines can help a hard-starting problem.
Older engines needed lead in the fuel to keep the valve seats from failing. I had a 390 out of a 64 and run unleaded in it over 1 year. Engine was getting tired and needed a valve job.

Thanks for your input, we are aware of the time frame of this engine. There was no unleaded gas to be bought except for Amoco white back then.
