Hey guys, I normally hang in the 73-79 forum but I wanted to drop in and say hey to you folks. Due to rising fuel costs, I just picked up a 1990 2.3L long bed ranger tonight so I will probably become a regular around here. I really like this truck so far.
Welcome to the Ranger section of FTE. Give us some more info about your truck, particularly how many miles are on it. As you can see by my signature, your truck is a close relative to mine.
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy my Ranger.
Thanks guys. Michigan 66 very similar truck, mine has 180k on it, also a 5 spd and runs perfect and doesnt leak. So far Im really liking it. Its a nice break from the 76.
Is good to know that you have no leaks. Something to check before a leak starts are the rubber plugs at the top rear of the transmission.
They get old, dry out, shrink and then start leaking. If yours are the original, they will be leaking soon. At a minimum, replace them with new rubber plugs; better still use metal plugs.
